Half Lord of the Pisces Pose – Yoga Journal

  1. Start with Gomukhasana Legs (Cow Face Pose), right knee on top.
  2. Root with your sit bones to increase the length of your spine.
  3. Imagine a central axis running through your torso from the pelvic floor to the crown of your head.
  4. Each time you inhale, emphasize both the length and the integrity of this axis. The column is straight and does not tilt or curve to one side or the other.
  5. Keeping your left leg in the current position, place your right foot outside of your left knee.
  6. Root your right great toe mound while lowering your right outer hip.
  7. Inhale and raise your left arm to the ceiling.
  8. Exhale and hang your left elbow on the outside of your right knee. Place your right hand on the floor outside of your right hip.
  9. Notice how your right knee tends to buckle into your midline. Instead, press right to create more resistance for your left elbow.
  10. Inhale and find more length along the central axis. Exhale, and use this length to twist more deeply.
  11. Repeat on the other side.
